  • GP First Round – ANNOUNCEMENT

    Concerning the withdrawal of Mark J. Williams:

    Although not explicitly stated in the Rules, Mark Williams's matches, which have now become void, will not be considered in the prediction contest.

    You will note within the Rules that the following matches will not be considered:
    a) Matches in which a player did not turn up;
    b) Matches in which a player retired before the scheduled conclusion;
    c) Matches which were incorrectly stated, or incorrectly missing from, the draw provided on the predictions thread.

    I think it is implicit within this that Williams's retirement renders his matches that have already been played as not being considered.

    What if we have predicted Mark to win his group? Does we get another chance at predicting group winner or is it tough luck?

      Alas, at this stage, there is no answer to that other than 'tough luck'!

      But remember, the group winners were Bonus points, so would not count towards the First Round results, only added to the overall tournament like the high break bonuses.

        Sorry, don't know what I was thinking!

        Of course, there will be no bonus points available for this group. (Thus, the same principle as his withdrawal voiding his results – of which his group winner is one).
