I would say Eurosport has nothing to do with the selection of the matches, but that would be the Tournament Director and officials - that is not to say the officials do no also think which match would be "better" for TV.
Many times I scratch my head on the TV selection, but often they do get it right...
My thinking of their selection criteria order for a session:
1. Big Name (V. heavy weighting)
2. High rank (high weighting)
3. New face/youngster/"not normal" country (default)
4. Others (negative)
obviously, if you have a match with both 1 & 2, makes decision so much easier all round
[purely my opinion and for a laugh ]
i'd get that during r o sullivan time , less so in qualifiers , ws seem to be a bit all tits and superficiality , judd trump and his prize money yawn , i find trump quite dull , i'd hardly get off my bum to go over and watch him even if i was at a venue

I would be very surprised, if the tv channels (probably BBC though and not Eurosport) wouldn't have a part in the decision, which match(es) they show. It's always so in sports.
It has always been a problem, that they rather choose prominent names over equal matches of good players. But this is not a sole mistake in snooker, it's this way as well in other sports, for example tennis.
they should just ask viewers to vote on the choice of match , or just go with obvious choices , what are they trying to prove as people can watch players like amiri on youtube anyway .
Decent scoring from jamie clarke , good tactical player , the late willie thorne said he needed to score more , seems to have taken his advice , hopefully he gives joe perry a decent game
and not a great day for the Lines family with Oliver losing 6-2 to Gerard Greene . I thought he was really going to make a name for himself in the game , but not so far .
Is someone at snooker.org having a laugh , it says the first 2 rounds of the q school are best of 5 , the 3rd round best of 13 , then the 4th 5th and qualifying quarter final best of 7 , where’s the head or tail to that , if i felt i had a chance i’d prob keep my grand in the bank , i like short matches but best of 5 of is a bit too short .
