Good to see a much needed 4 - 1 for Matthew Stevens over Joe O'Connor, let's hope Matthew can keep his place on the tour next season. If not do you think World Snooker will give in a two-year tour card.

Yes, good win for Matt, played well.

                  No
not sure about the new venue and local amenities (pubs) - it seems to be in the middle of nowhere and a taxi or drive away from hotels and any "amenities"
Newport of old and Cardiff were brilliant for just a short walk to hotel and food/drink (Cardiff especially )
Still remember walking through the Beast from the East from the hotel to the venue, then at the end of the day trying to find a pub/restaurant that was not closing early to allow staff to get home (no problem with that ) and finally finding a nice place staying open for a few beevies and a burger
I will miss it but heigh-ho always next year
Booked off work still so will watch in the comfort of my own place - told the wife not to expect any "chores" done for the week
(after twenty years married I can still duck quickly enough )

Its a shame about the venue, let's hope it doesn't detract from the quality of the tournament too much. Decent amenities certainly make for a great overall experience when staying over for a tourney so let's hope it gets back to normal next year.

As for dodging flying objects from the wife, it's the only thing that makes me move fast these days! Lolz.

lichtenberg so obviously should have pulled it back to 1 - 2 there now its 0 - 3 and looking grim for him , i think he's only got the turkish masters and world champs qualifiers to save his tour place now , poor.

well if you're describing it like that at the mo , 2 nil to the chinese , some of it was a bit self inflicted , he was a bit unlucky not to win the first frame but he did miss an easy black with a chance to score heavily and missed a very gettable final brown trying to get in and out of baulk for the blue , maybe players should play the more anthony hamilton type of game , trying to rely more on potting and break building and using safety more just to stay in the game instead of safety as a weapon , at the end of the day you've got to pot balls.

                            all correct
and the "tough" bit I mention is leading to internal pressure which leads to poor play

                            come on!

Akani hammered 4 -1 , his results are plummeting like Un Noohs who has dropped miles down the rankings . Sad to watch such natural talent going down
