Don't think I've seen Higgins cue better. Think he let that silly black he potted along the rail in his last match make him think those corners were easy enough to have a go at that red and probably the final black he tried too. Might reign it in after those two missed now.

Two really interesting sessions. Is Si starting to tire, mentally? Some of those shots that were going in throughout his previous matches, aren't now, and he doesn't seem to have a B game to fall back on, manna for McGill. Unlike Selby, who's B game has carried him for quite some time now, or is this his new A game? Either way, it seems to be enough to stop Higgins steaming ahead. Can't wait for the next instalments.

The fast and the furious,
The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

Yes, great work from Selby to slow Higgins and stop an enslaught from him. Feels weird to hear Kyren in the seat next to Hendry giving punditry on a man who wooped him 13-2! Just feels wrong to me, he looks comfortable doing it so obviously the money's good....

I don't know, I think he actually is comfortable and enjoying this now. I think Kyren is just a genuine fan of the game and thus a fan of greats like John Higgins... and just honestly admires his strengths.

Yep he's definitely a very nice guy and I like his personality. I hope this position helps him learn the intricacies that he's witnessing. At Thier level it's the smallest details that make a difference, I think Kyren seems to be a person who could learn them, but the jury is out on Lisowski. I'm beginning to think there's something very Homer Simpson about the way Jack's brain works.

Lisowski can be great to watch, but whatever Peter Ebdon is advising him seems to be going in one ear and out the other!
Or his short cue action which is great for touch play in and around the black but not so good for distance .
Edit ā¦. Should have reread your post CC.
I know part of Marks trials with different cues was trying to find one that worked well for both long and short game. It seems he found some great for each but overall not one that did both tonsame level.
maybe he should use two cues! That would be interesting. Bit like Phil Michelson using two drivers (one for draw one for fade). Not unlike pool either needing two cues for different shots.
