If you think Ronnie gets all the way to a ranking final just to lose it, you should seek professional help.

Feel a bit sorry for Ding... his head must be muddled... shows you once you reach a high level it's all in your head... and Ding has played with fear! Understandably after their last major final...
Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning...

I can't remember the last time Ronnie had a high quality close match. Ronnie seems to charge ahead right before his opponent settles in nowadays.

I think the only way ronnie could lose is if he suddenly shakes hands with ding and then walks off for no apparent reason.

                    • awful from Ding and just backs up what Ronnie said last week that the game is in a poor state if someone like him can come in and not play at his best and beat these so called top players.

Ding, like so many others today, are good against players they can dominate against, however it would be a travesty if this guy was to go on and win multiple world championships because his game doesn't deserve it. Had he played in the 90's era he would be lucky to have a tournament win to his name. People go on about his breakbuilding but that is all he has. HE hasn't got bottle and he gives up when far behind in matches. That isn't the making of a great player.

BBC Wales stays with the Snooker instead of switching to cycling!

Don't disagree with most points, but I gotta point out the bottle Ding has shown in the past 12 months has been examplary. I mean he's faced match frames many times this season and came back to win in dominant fashion against some of the very best of the modern era. It's just that the thought of playing Ronnie seems to does his head in all the time. The pressure of wanting to beat his snooker hero just crumbles his game each time they meet.

                          • As long as ding attempts to build breaks and plays good safeties, I wouldn't say ding has given up as cueman puts it.

Back in the 2007 Masters, Ding didn't bother at all in the last few frames.

You should put a grand on Ding. He's good for it.

Overstatement of the year. The guy has won ranking finals against Ronnie O'Sullivan, John Higgins and Stephen Hendry, so I don't see why he would need luck to win a title in the 90s.

I don't have much positive to say about him today either, but he deserves a bit more respect I think. Anyone can have a bad day, and he will still have have won four of his five major finals this season even after he loses tonight.
