The second biggest tournament of the season in terms of ranking points, prize money and frames to be played has already started today with the qualifiers. Those are already important cause the winner gets 5000 pounds (and obviously the chance to win much more). So it can be very valuable, if you still want to make the top 16 ahead of the World Championship or stay within the Top 64 at the end of the season. Or even if you want to get into the 32 ahead of the Crucible and get a (at least on paper) easier draw at the sport's biggest event.
