Well this is the reaction from Barry Pinches...
"Janie you remember what it used to be like? We played events every week, every weekend, and mid week matches.
We're snooker players. this is what we do and what we want to be doing.
We haven't had so many playing opportunities for years.
I'm sorry for the fans that can't see these events but they will be able to in the EPTCs."

The point is, we are really on about the late start times, the 10, 11, 12 0/c starts, going on to 3 in the morning. Of course what Barry is saying is completely true and thats what players want. But, he has also had a good day today, so that helps.

Try catching him when he has had a couple of poor results, when he is totally shagged, coming off at 2-3 o/c in the morning, and he has played like a twat, because he was so shattered. Then when it happens again, i think his reply might be a bit different.

Most seem to be taken this criticism way out of range. All i am trying to get across mainly, to start with, is no start times later than 8 0/c for instance, No matches going on to 1,2, 3 o/c in the morning. Is that so much to ask. It makes sense to have players being at their best, instead of struggling to stay awake. At the end of the day, it might be their job, but let them at least enjoy it a little bit.

They are enjoying it though, and they get to choose weather they play or not. If they enjoy them, they will play, if they aren't, they won't.

That isn't really the case Mr P, for any lower ranked player to decide not to play in ALL of these events, whether they enjoy them or not, would be risking their career, so it's not as simple as you say. I think the events are fantastic, but, there are some changes needed and i'm sure they will come.

It's no good complaining on here then. I'm sure Barry Hearn dosen't read this forum, so I think the best option would be to contact him directly via e-mail.

I'm not complaining, I love the events and the opportunity for players to earn a few quid and get a more realistic chance of having the best players remaining on the main tour. I'm sure Barry Hearn & co at WSA are aware of all the problems and i'm also confident they will improve these events given a little time.

The reason people are taking your criticism out of context is because of your aggressive and non-constructive way of wording it.

You're not a pro player yourself, so why are YOU complaining about what time THEY start? If the players have complaints they will voice them, and as we have seen those complaints are being acted on these days.

So just relax, breathe, have a cup of tea or something.

i have to agree with the previous post, madman. You seem far to agitated by this and taking it out on Mr P like that isnt really necessary. we are in the very early days of the Hearn revolution here i would love to know how the early darts tournaments were formatted to see how much they've managed to streamline it since i'm sure given time things will improve. right now, for the players it has to be a case of baring with it until they get it right and im sure the majority of them realise that this is better than what was on offer under the previous regime

I'm sure these teething problems will be taken on board this year and better organised events will take place next.

I think the past two events were very interesting, -even without live streaming. Sure there are many things to improve and get used to, but aren't the conditions the same for all players?

Maybe more qualifiers are needed in order to reduce the numbers in the event itself. Another issue seems to be the unpredictable duration of the matches. A time limit could be usefull here, say ie after 2 hours of play only 6 reds would be racked in the remaining frames.

As to player's discomfort due to the venue it is of course a financial question. I'm sure the venues in the coming European events will be far better. Whether they all indeed have Star templated tables is another matter (I doubt it).
Ten reds and not a colour...

Come on, these are events that count towards the ranking list, and thus directly affect the seedings in major tournaments. You can't under any circumstances have frames with 6 reds, or any other rules that change the basic game of snooker to this extent.
