Yeah, he got some great snookers today, it has to be said. But it didn't help him in the end.

      It's already in 2 weeks.
Well, it's a match played in one day, so it's quite easy for the defending champion to get caught out. But I think there is no doubt Selby and Trump are at their peak form at the moment. It's going to be very tough for Trump to hold it through to the match against Robertson.

Selby must feel pretty silly. His grinding didn't deliver, YET AGAIN.

            Congratulations to Judd Trump.

What do you mean grinding? He's safety game is probably the best on the tour, is that what you're refering to?

Great win for Trump, I expected Selby to grind out victory in the second session, but Trump fought well and didn't lose his composure, so well done to him!

So great when 2 most in form players meet in the final!

I think I'm a new fan of Judd

Serious question now: can Selby play even better than this?!?
Co-winner of Spike’s 2009 UK Championship number of centuries prediction contest.

                  RIP Noel. RIP.

Well done Judd . Selby is a real danger for the worlds and so is Trump if he gets past Robbo .

Great match, Trump was absolutely great. Especially as it was his first final appearance. Selby wasn't too bad either. Lot of centuries and good tactical battles. A little bit of drama also... Fantastic match! Congratulations to Judd!

It was a great match, one of the three best finals of the season so far, along with the UK Championship and the German Masters.

Every credit to Trump, I expected a nervy shot here and there towards the end, but he was very solid. He did miss a couple of frame balls, which gave Selby the chance to lay the snookers, but Trump came through all of that, and made a number of excellent breaks just when it looked like the pressure was on. For all his critics, he still did more than any other player of his age in recent years, and only Ding has won a title at a similar age recently. It will be interesting to see how he handles being in the top16 now.

As for Selby... Yes, he lost a final where he was the favourite, and I'm sure some people will keep mentioning this in the future... But it's not like he bottled it. He played his usual hard match snooker and scored his centuries, just as he did earlier in the week. He just came up against a great opponent, like he did in the final of the German Masters. It will be interesting to see if he has anything left for the WC now. If you remember the 07/08 season, where it was Murphy who seemed to reach at least the SF of every event, he had nothing left for the WC. In fact, neither did Selby, even though he won two titles that season.

I'm honestly starting to believe there's something wrong in the head with you. First of all, Selby made three tons in the match (wasn't it 7 or 8 in the tournament?) so I would hardly call that grinding, and the balls were so awkward each time they really were fabulous breaks. Second, I doubt he feels silly as he got to another final and is up to number 2 in the provisional rankings, closing in on the number 1 spot. It's okay to not like certain players but to constantly down two of the greatest players to ever play the game (okay maybe Selby is not there quite yet but I'm confident he will be) no matter how great their performances are is ridiculous. I'm 99% sure you're antifanboy, the troll from youtube and I don't think anyone takes what you say seriously any more.
Well, now my rant is over I'd just like to say it was a great great match and I honestly didn't mind who won, they both thoroughly deserved it. Just too bad that I couldn't see the last three frames

Wow, you're talking out of your ass here. Selby one of the best players ever? Silly if not delusional. And yes, he played negative once again... you should count how many times he makes the balls go awkward and tries to force re-racks to slow his opponent down. I'm just glad Trump showed him his antics failed yet again.
