          • Good performance from Mark... I'm thrilled for him and a chance of taking his revenge on last year's final :snooker:

I feel bad for my lucky dip, Stephen He's just not performing against the on form players I hope he sorts himself out soon

If the final is anything like last year's, it should be a cracker Can't wait!!! :snooker::snooker::snooker:

            • Quite one-sided at the end, despite the couple of good breaks by Maguire. From what I managed to see, it was a pretty good standard. I think Selby could hold his own tomorrow, and possibly make a match out of it against O'Sullivan.

                      • So Maguire upped his game for semi (in those frames I saw at least). Wasn't enough.

Wonder if someone steals stuff from Selby again, how far will he go in the next tournament?

                          • Just watched the last frames normally on Eurosport now.

                            Interesting stats:
                            Long-pot success 63% - 58% Ronnie - Williams (frame 9 or 10)
Average shot time 19 sec - 15 sec Ronnie - Williams (frame 11)
Isn't it supposed to be that Williams is the long-potter and Ronnie the quick one?

And got a feeling that Williams somewhat bottled in the final frame!
Well or was even more careless than Ronnie (made 2 long all-or-nothing long pot attempts; that mistake with positional shot... well with that just **** happenss sometimes, can't blame him for that). While Ronnie was careless more than enough (gave 2 chances seemingly because of not taking a look how the table will look like after making a shot).

Still the weirdest thing was the commentary (yes yes Mr.Sinitsin) suggesting that Williams could have taken on a more guaranteed pot to the middle instead of that very last long red that he missed - could have played the closest red to left mid pocket with the help of touching the other red standing right above that middle pocket (using so-called "wider pocket"). Any comment to that?
The match is not on youtube yet, so no screenshot.

Sinitsin said he's gonna ask Williams about it in February

Ronnie needed that red near the cushion. Maybe Williams thought that he shoud leave it there because it was a tricky one. Bit of a last straw. (Although later Ronnie smartly developed it from the blue.)

Also the margin of error with that "big pocket" shot was still quite small from that angle (so the might have not been that wide) and also it's a "blind pocketish" shot which makes it tricky.

That is my guess for that Williams chose the more straighforward one.
