Should be a good final, not nerve wrecking, as none of the two is one of my favourite, but both are established enough to not break down due to pressure. So hopefully good standard.
Ein jedes Werkzeug ist ein Tand in eines tumben Toren Hand.
Come On Fergal! If it came off it would have to be my greatest prediction beating Greece to win Euro 2004, Ding to win Uk 2006 and Dott to be in a world final in 2004. Allen needs to win another frame though.
lol sometimes you make these predictions without truely thinking it will happen - i bet on dominic dale to win in china but deep down i never expected it!
So, the final has started and no stream to be found. Tg4 is showing footie, Eur is showing tennis and the web streaming starts in 14 minutes.
Fergal got off to an 8-point start, at the moment Mags is on the table, on a break of 17.
I don't understand why Eur can't just stream the whole thing. Perhaps it has something to do with tg4 showing footie, seeing as the footage is probably delivered by them, but then again, Eur has been streaming when tg4 cut their transmissions earlier in the week. This way or the other:
A very exciting and interesting match so far. A great 135 from Mags, but also very impressive breaks from Fergal. He seems to have met the wall a little during the last few frames, only nicking the last one as Maguire missed a long red.
As for the ranking issues: "If he [Maguire] wins tonight he will be up to third in the provisional rankings, if he loses he will stay fourth." (WSA)
Now I'm off to look for raisins, almonds and suitable alcohol (red wine, vodka) to make gløgg.
In frame six, O'Brien missed a red on break of 58, then later made a bad saftey shot on the yellow, badly under-hitting an attempted snooker. Maguire then went on and potted the yellow and a long green and then he cleared up with a tricky black to lead 4-2.
next frame fergal missed a black on a 41 break maguire then got to 56 but wobbled the last red in the jaws of a baulk corner. fergal cleared from there to trail by just one frame going into tonights session.
I absolutely HAVE to say this: if O'Brien wins tonight, I'm organising a posse whose sole purpose would be to pilfer Alex's crystal ball.
