Dom was always a bit hot and cold, hasn't he? He's been qualifying for a lot recently, but not doing much when he does qualify.

I don't think he'll even get close to winning a full ranking event again, unfortunately. Maybe the PTCs will provide some success?

Not seeing much of these, but I'll be online to chat about it, hopefully.

I am a bit disappointed at not being able to see Barry Hawkins vs Jack Lisowski. Not because I'm particularly interested in Barry Hawkins, but because Jack Lisowski is considered a prospect. I've only seen him play once, and that was at the Welsh Open last year, when I was there live. He played John Higgins and pushed Honest John quite close. (For whatever that's worth in a best of seven.) I think that's the only time he's qualified for a ranking event. And I was there live. Hawkins is experienced, so will probably find a way to beat the youngsters, but I'd be happy to be wrong on that. Lisowski is a rising star, and having him have a decent run here will do him no harm. On the other hand, who needs to see any more of Boring Barry.

Mark Davis vs Tom Ford is quite a blah match.

I don't know much of Xiao Guodong. Another oriental star coming in. Not as exciting an idea as that used to be, we're forever seeing the Chinkies turn up at the tournaments these days, so the novelty isn't there. I quite like Dale, love to see him win. But, just depends what this somewhat unknown quantity can do.

Gould vs Lee could well be the match of the day. I put that nominally ahead of Ricky Walden and Matthew Stevens. (Only because Stevens has become so mediocre these days, that it makes Walden the favourite. Whereas Gould vs Lee are both playing alright lately.)

Fergal and Perry is somewhat dull.

Saying all that, these matches are all best of seven, so it perhaps limits the amount of excitement you can have. PTCs are in their element when you have time to sit and watch the whole thing. Not when you only see a couple of matches here and there.

Don't you think some of our Chinese members might find that term rather offensive SF?

Looks like Hawkins is about to pull one back. Shame there's no coverage today, going to miss some good matches.

Oh yeah, just had a look, it says:

                            Match Schedule
                            Wednesday March 14

                            10am
5 Barry Hawkins v Jack Lisowski
7 Mark Davis v Tom Ford
1 Xiao Guodong v Dominic Dale
4 Martin Gould v Stephen Lee

I can't generally use their site, so I get my info from snooker.org, and according to them the rest of those matches are on throughout the day.

I think what World Snooker means is the first match starts at 10am, and the rest are roll-on-roll-off, so the first match starts at 10am, and the second match starts straight after the first one is finished. The way they phrase it is a bit confusing.
