    Five weeks??? lol

At least you guys didn't join the Euro. Your vacations might get more expensive but at least they're sustainable.

Anyways, didn't mean to derail the thread. Political jokes are all in fun. :snooker:

Gotta go to bed soon so I can watch Hendry break off against Bingham.

      Great couple of weeks ahead!

In North America it's very common in business for new employees to get only 2 weeks off and then when they have perhaps 5 years with the company that will increase to 3 weeks vacation per year and after 15 years or so that increases to 4 weeks, which is normally the maximum even for long-term employees.

It's getting worse as a lot of companies are letting go the permanent employees and hire (or even re-hire) them as contract workers with NO benefits at all. If they take time off they don't get paid for it. My wife is in this category but luckily she retires shortly.

Even as a senior manager (Director) I had to negotiate to get 3 weeks off when I worked in the States.

Americans look at Europe and see some employees in some countries getting 6 weeks or more of vacation time and are very envious but there's nothing they can do

How about you? Anyone got any time off to watch the "marathon of the mind"...?
That *is* an amazing and very nice coincidence indeed!

I'm offf from work the whole second week of the WC, from April 28 untill May 8. I always plan this especially each year for the WC snooker. Best time of the year!

Watching the first session of Higgins vs Wenbo now...best of 19 in the 1st round...doesn't get any better than this!

I would be very careful sharing that kind of information to anyone at work. Evil people could use this against you..."hey, look at that guy, he cares more about his snooker than this job"...etc...hopefully it won't come to that.
