  • A young quarter-final line-up

Mark Williams, 32 years old (born on 21 March 1975), is the oldest quarter-finalist in the UK.

Haven't looked into this in any great detail but I wouldn't mind betting that that's the 'youngest oldest' of any major tournament, ever!

Let me know if you can confirm or disprove this thought.

It seems to me that there is a danger (if you can call it that) of snookers 'shelf-life' shortening. Gone seem to be the days where your favourite players would be challenging for titles over 10-20 years of play. Nowadays, being over 30 is starting to seem like the beginning of the end, where the form starts going, and they are stuggling to keep hold of their top-16 place.

Williams being a perfect example. (Nice to see him win a few again though)

Because there are some great younger players, such as Cope,Robterson,Ding,Murphy,Allen, etc.
I thinks there will not be some super star like Davis and Hendry who can won over 6 times world champion.
but this is a good future for snooker.
