What could be wrong is that his attitude is different if he plays a lower ranked player. Don't know what's good about crazy/not-reponsible-enough shots when frame destiny depends on them. Would he do all the same if he played Robbo in R1 instead?

Yeah, right!

What's good about (what you call) crazy/non responsible shots is that they get the crowd involved with the oooohs & aaaahs... Something not many players on the tour can generate!

Having watched him for a few years now, I'd say yes... He'd play those shots quite often (a) when the frame is safe (b) when he's disgusted with the way he's playing!

And don't forget he had a 3 frame-cushion and he probably thought he could afford to mess about a bit:snooker:

First frame was Mags all the way! Second frame, Dom made a break of 42 then he missed & Mags did the rest!!

Dominics missed black.... he was always going to struggle against maguire anyway, so not surprised really..
