  • Funny that the 2 frames that Matthew won were both century breaks:snooker:

Come On Mark!!! I think Matthew has made it competitive enough, wrap it up now please!

Yes, I'm not saying O'Sullivan will be whitewashed, but there is no way he's going to win by playing like today. It was enough for Cope, but won't be enough for Allen (or Stevens).

But tomorrow is another day, and O'Sullivan could easily turn it on.

      • What a red from Mark to recover:snooker:

        Edit: And what a miss

Edit2: Solid performance from Mark to seal the match

right from the start of the match I had a feeling Ronnie didn't even think he'd lose that one
after all he didn't even need to leave his chair Cope was so awful

what I'm trying to say is
I'm sure Ronnie WILL turn up for his next match against Allen

So it is confirmed now. ROS will meet Allen in the QF as I predicted in the QF thread discussion.

Yeap, tomorrow is another day and I can say Ronnie's at his C game today. Maybe it will be his B or A game in the QF. Just wait and see.

            Cheers

            • Yes, should be a good match in the QF.

I see Maguire is through as well. I wonder how he played today...

              • A little bit disappointed with this afternoon's matches. I was expecting closer battles. Stevens played pretty well scoring wise but Allen was stronger. Cope was rubbish and the icing on the cake O'Sullivan reaches a new low by insulting Andy Murray in the post-match. And only two sessions today... Hopefully the evening session is more enjoyable.

Ehrm, now it's scheduled at 1pm Was 7pm just a few hours ago on www.worldsnooker.com... Maybe they're putting the Welsh guys for 7pm, Day and Williams (not there yet).

Where did you manage to see that interview?
And what's wrong with tennis players now?

                    Edit: Thanks.

Insulting Murray? By saying Murray is more the hard worker type than the fireworks provider? Isn't that true? Yes it is true. And he was comparing his on game today with Murray's who BTW is through to the final, so all praise to him. That's a comparison people can easily relate with. It seems to me that in the eyes of many whatever Ronnie says is twisted and interpreted for the worse.

Did Ronnie play well today? If the answer is no (and isn't he more likelly than anyone else to mean that?), then add "I did not play well" + "I played like Murray" = "Muray does not play well", just like 2+2=4. So knowing just the text of the interview & general Ronnie's attitude to his game, that's about the only locigal conclusion.

Of course it's possible to say he played "well enough"... Still woudn't be exactly flattering to Murray. But I also do not know what is the style of Murray's game.

                          Anyways... who cares

                          • I watched Ronnie's match which was a very uninteresting one, with Cope, completely going out of control during his breaks..

Come on Mark J!! An hour and a half till the start of the session??

PS: Murray is a terrible tennis player, so, spot on Ronnie
                            All the way Mark J!!

                              he said this :
It was an Andy Murray performance, capitalising on someone else's mistakes rather than a top professional performance,"
so it was about the way he won today and it is perfectly correct and sensible, both the statement and the comparison. That's what most great players in the 70th and 80th did all the time BTW. Matchplay.

Sorry, didn't want to hurt your feelings. Couldn't exactly interpret it as a compliment either.
