  • Which cue would you recommend - Peradon / PowerGlide / MasterCue

    Hi everyone,

I'm new here and this is my first post. I've seen a few posts similar to these but I feel they are all very much outdated as they were posted many years ago and reviews on the lower end cues.

I've been looking into buying a new snooker cue and try push to become a more serious player. I'm currently using a Chinese cue Jian Ying (don't laugh! I was young and didn't have the money back then).
I am now looking to invest in a cue that would potentially last me a lifetime assuming I take good care of it. I really wanted the John Parris Majestic cue, but costing nearly £800 is a little too extensive for me. I really like the 4 secondary maple splice design with the burrwood primary layer - https://www.parriscues.com/majestic-cue.html

So I went online to seek a similar looking cue at a more affordable price. I've set my budget as £300-ish. Whilst I do understand the quality of wood and craftsmanship is important, being a long-term investment I would like a design that satisfies me. I am strictly looking for a hand-made ash cue, 3/4 joint with an ebony butt. Here are 3x cues I found similar to the JP cue, but I'm not sure which brand has the best quality.

    3. Master Cue
not sure what the name is but attached a video link. If you know the name please do let me know!

Can you recommend which brand is the best out of the 3?

I played quite a few Master Cues and they were all really recommendable, especially for what they cost.

As I mentioned in your other thread, the cue in video is a Connoisseur S, which might be a bit too pricey for your budget. But there are quite a few Master Cues available for up to £300, maybe not as fancy looking but just as good.

Thanks for that. I did look at the Master Cue Connoisseur S range and I couldn't see a definitive match to the one in the video. The one in the video has a another centred black splice, also there is a spacing between the splices. Also note that it is a 3/4 jointed cue. Whilst my budget is around £300, I did consider going up a little if I were to find the right cue. If I could get a link to that specific Master cue, I would definitely have a look at it regardless of price. If it means saving up a bit more then so be it.

Of course you should always play a cue before you buy it, if you can.

Are powerglide cues any good? Are they just mass produced as I have a holiday coming up and don't want to be playing with random club cues but need something that'l arrive in a week
