  • Stalemate on respotted black.

Never happened to me before, but recently I was playing a friend and the game ended in a draw. We respotted the black and after a few shots the black ended up on the cushion. My mate then rolled up to it gently face on, doubled kissed and we ended up both stubbornly just tapping up to the black. (We eventually just called it a draw as we were on the clock!)

My question is if this happened in a competitive game, and as the frame has effectively ended and the black is a "tiebreaker" would the re-rack rule come into effect for the whole frame again, or just the black ball?

    Cheers

The ref would spot the Black only, Cue-Ball to ball in hand; the same player as before to play it first.

That’s a good one. Never seen it happen in a match ever. If you’ve got the time can you post the section in the rules where this is covered. Thanks.

        Sec 3.17 Stalemate
        (d) If a stalemate occurs during a re-spotted Black as described in Section 3 Rule 4(b), only the Black will be spotted with the same player to make the opening stroke.

What would happen if it was just the last black and both players refused to go for it. I take it the ref would give them so many shots and then enforce a rerack?
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!
