  • Fitting a new ferrule

    Hi folks. Happy New Year!

I've picked up an old cue from my local club. It has no ferrule so I have bought a screw ferrule.

Can someone advise me on how to fit it or point me in the right direction at least.

    Thanks

A screw thread ferrule I mean.

Thanks for the link. The cue obviously didnt have a screw thread ferrule before so it could be tricky.

Judging by your user name, sounds like a Co. Kildare native to me..... Abban Reddy will make and fit a new ferrule for you, as well as any other cue doctoring you may require. It's only a few euro to have a ferrule done plus the postage back to you...

There's an Irish pool association ranking event in Kilkenny this weekend which I think Abban is going to so you could bring the cue to his stall if you have time out on Saturday or Sunday to head down and watch. He usually has a stall at the events he attends but he competes in the competitions also.

You will get to see some of the top players in action if you go, as the pro tour event runs alongside the main tour event. There are a number of players in the pro tour who are very very good indeed if you are interested in going to watch. If you are watching, you'll probably notice that a large percentage of the top Irish players (main and pro tours) use Abban's very fine handmade cues.

Google.ie abban reddy handmade snooker cues and you should get his mobile no. to give him a call if needed.

            Hope this helps,
            Ger
