  • How to win the scrappy frames?

Any advice on how to win those scrappy frames?

You know how it goes...sometimes the balls go awkward and it becomes anybody's game because it's hard to make a frame winning break before you get down to the colours.

i have always found if you can pot what is available, be it a single red, or sometimes only 2 balls at that moment of time, take it and play safe, and wait for another opportunity, having a good tactical knowlege in your game is as important as the potting especially for these type of frames, but having said that while the saftey battle is in progress you must maintain your concentration and compusure, every shot needs 100 per cent . Final words, always when in a saftey battle try and put your opponent in the worst possible situation, leaving him frustrated to the MAX!!! Good luck.
I can see the table, but lost my ....ive lost my balls

Work in areas and make sure that a higher valued ball is on its spot.

JUst be patient and dont go for difficult pots. If you see that some pot is difficult for you play safe and wait for another chance..
You cannot improve your game if you don't have a cue and snooker table

            Erm... just SCRAP it out!

Seriously, patience is the key to these frames I believe.

If you get frustrated and take on shots you normally wouldn't, or play a "compromising" safety to resolve the situation and let your opponent take a chance, these are signs that you are losing it.

Well that's what happens to me when I get impatient or frustrated in scrappy frames and lose focus.

Just be patient and weigh your percentages clearly.

Good safety is the key to winning scrappy frames, you may have to win four or five safety battles to accumulate enough points.

^that says it all for me really^
so many times i've been in one of these scrappier frames and my opponent only needs the blue for example to win the frame, yet they get down to take the shot and their cue action has disappeared. They end up hitting across the shot and missing it. Now i dont care what anybody says - no matter how unimportant winning or losing a frame/match seems, when you are in a situation on frame ball, or any ball for that matter there is always an element of pressure. so make sure before every shot you set yourself up nicely; good solid stance, clear view of what you want to do with the balls and even some longer breaths to wipe any negative thoughts away. this will help you to make the most of your chances when you get them, which is especially important in these types of frames where every single point counts

patience, patience, patience, try to keep it simple, if its a tight game with maybe 1 red left or just the colours, dont play saftey shots where the cue ball is running around 2/3 cushions try to make sure the object ball is safe , dont think its all about "getting the cue ball safe" sometimes try to think " where would i not like to play the next shot from,, dont move colours that you dont need to win the frame or if you need colours that are safe try to play so your opponent has to move them ,, for example if the yellow is the ball on and the green is on the cushion (or any ball you might need later) and you have no pot on,, roll the yellow against the other colour make your opponent move it, but be carefull as if not played right you can leave your opponent an easy snooker !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
