How much does it cost to host a tournament?

I don't know if this is the best place to ask, but I'll give it a try...

I've been asked about how much a snooker tournament would cost. I know Spain doesn't have the tradition to host a ranking event, but maybe an EPTC event or an invitational one. There seems to be a place to host it (1000 square meters) and some companies that'd put some money. Snooker is growing bigger in Spain and it also receives many tourists that might be interested.

Who should I ask about the costs? World Snooker? Those in Fürth, Brugge, Prague? I would like to get some information and decide whether it's possible or completely out of reach.

I'd say talk to World Snooker and see what they say. If they say no, you can always just host your own separate event.

How about Canada? We've been trying to get something going in Ontario or Montreal now for a few years with no success.

(Almost had some with Pat Mooney and World Series event in Toronto but you know how that went)
