thanks for the support semih, had my protective lens took off today and can see brilliant with right eye nearly 20/20 vision, have asked company to asses my left eye for future surgery. Since people i know have heard i have opted for laser loads have suddenly said they are waiting for my results and may consider it.
Everyone is different but IMHO and from my experience of only4 days i would strongly recommend laser surgery if it is suitable for yourself, But the proof is in the pudding so when i get back on table will see how long it takes to beat my highest break

      Congrats Pooliebell
welcome to the world of being able to see a defined edge of a ball more than 6 inches away!
      Did you get any pain?
Everyone is different but i had quite a bit of pain and sensitivity to light on the first day or so but the pain killers eased that.
I had both eyes done at the same time.
      Certainly worth it though.

      Cheers
      Wayne

thanks wayne still the prob about left eye though.to tell the truth i had no pain what so ever(without sounding too matcho). Although stings for few mins when put drops in.I can imagine both eyes being worse though and even so if it goes alright for patient which statistically it should it is all very much worth the pain if you feel any.

I know of one guy who had it done, and he's playing better.
But I think it depends just exactly what they do.
If its correcting short sightedness, its OK. But if its correcting age related degeneration (long-sightedness and astigmatism) they fix one eye for reading and the other for distance. Make sure they fix your dominant eye for distance!! Because that's your aiming eye for snooker.

If you can get hold of the Terry Griffiths training DVD he made for WPBSA some years ago that will help.
Its the same when we get glasses; the optometrist fixes up both eyes good if not better than new, and for some stupid reason we think we can put the cue right under our chin.
              Bollocks!
Our aiming eye didn't change. We were born with it. The aiming eye not only has to be engaged; it has to be over the top of the cue.
If I could do that every time, I'd never miss!
