  • 4 Person Snooker

Does anyone know of any good snooker games for 4 people? We use to play one called Black & Yellow but cannot remember how to play now.

Mexican pool,, great game,, all put money in the pot, 6 colours in a triangle all the reds surrounds the colours,, someone breaks,, you need to pot a red, then pick a playing card (2-7) they represent a colour ,, pot the colour that's correct to your card you win he money,, if you pot another colour, you can take someone out the game,, lol,,, if no one wins,, roll over,,,it's a great game,, hope ive explained it well

We used to play a game called "101"
You start with all colours on the spots. 1 red between black/pink. 1 red between pink/blue. 1 red between blue/brown. 1 red between yellow/brown and 1 red between brown/green.
You ONLY pot colours and your aim is to get to 101 points. If you touch a red your score is halved and your turn is over. You must take a different colour every shot. To make it harder, increase the amount of reds on the table. Sounds easy but the more reds the harder it gets. If you go over 101 your score is halved. £5 a man gets you thinking.
You may defeat me but I will fight you to the very end!!!!

That sounds great Fred. I will have to introduce it to our club. Maybe a beer per person so the winner gets 3 beers. Then start another frame.

Is your whole score halved or only your break score?

My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
        I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

It really is a good game mythman. It's good for the novice with only 5 reds to avoid but increasing the reds for the more advanced makes it a challenge.

I've played that a game a few times but we used to call it crash though......

The only deference was once we potted a red you had to play the colour closest to the white, all about positional play..... Great game!!

              Les:

The rules of black/yellow are simple...whoever pots the black first and whoever pots the yellow first are the partners against the other 2 players.

It gets interesting later in the frame if the person who potted the first black has either a lot of points then everyone will be trying to pot the yellow but even more interesting when he has very few points as then only the guy with the most points can take the yellow with the other 2 players avoiding the pot.

You can also have the scenario where the guy who has the black has a lot of points and he takes the first yellow. He is then 'going it alone' and his total points must be better than all the other 3 points added together and everyone pays him.

What I can't tell you is what happens if he goes alone and it ends up a tie frame. I guess the other 3 players nominate who will play the re-spotted black or else they take turns. With normal partners you would follow the rules of snooker for a tie frame.

If you miss a colour does it go back on the spot, same with the reds if you hit them are they replaced, sounds a great game Fred.
Thought of something else, how do you start the game lol.

Thanks Terry, we use to play this years ago. Great game when you have 4 players.

If reds are moved they stay where they come to rest as with the colours. You start with the toss of a coin, play from the "d" but you play the blue. I forgot to add a few bits to the rules. Sorry guys, hope this helps.
