Hi Folks
i brought a cheap 3 piece slate 8' table (as my first one) and had to put it together myself. I think i did an awesome job as the table is balanced beautifully. However, the middle piece of slate is about 2mm thinner than the end pieces. I used the sealer that was provided and got it pretty good. so in the middle of the table there is a slight rise of about 1.2mm going from side to side. it has not effected the roll of the balls or the play as of yet, but the cheap felt that came with it is starting to wear thin on that spot.
i was thinking that using thicker better felt will eliminate any effect that the slate may have??? i have heard that you can buy quarter inch thick felt???
But what is the best felt to use, thickness wise, and how will thicker felt effect the way the game is played??? also, is 100% wool better that mixed felts???
Any advise would be much appreciated.
