  • Some questions... :)

    Hi for everyone ,

    Situation.
The first player pots the red and makes a touching ball with red (and made a snooker for himself to strike colour balls).

    Question.
You must try to hit the colour ball? or there are some other options (in general).

    Other question.
If there is a touching ball with the colour ball. Is it different from touching ball with the red one?

    One more.
The score is, for example, 70:88. Only pink and black left on the table. The first player makes a snooker and the second player misses it. Can the first player ask the second to replay the shot?

    Thanks for your answers

Yes, you must try to hit the coloured ball. See next answer.

The touching ball difference is not between redd and colour; it is between touching a ball you are going for, and a ball you're not.

If you're going for a red:
Then, cue-ball touching red, you are deemed to have hit it, so can play away without penalty. Cue-ball touching a colour, you are deemed not to have hit it and you must hit a red first as normal.

If you're going for a colour after potting a red:
Then, cue-ball touching a colour – you can nominate THAT COLOUR and you are deemed to have hit it, or you can nominate ANOTHER COLOUR and you are deemed not to have hit the touching colour; you must hit YOUR NOMINATED colour first as normal. Cue-ball touching a red, you are deemed notto have hit it and must hit the relevant colour first as normal.

If you're going for a colour at the end of the frame, after the reds have gone:
Then, cue-ball touching THAT colour, you are deemed to have hit it, so can play away without penalty. Touching ANOTHER colour, you are deemed not to have hit it and must hit the correct colour first as usual.

No. Because a player needs snookers.

He can ask the player to play the stroke again, but he cannot ask for the balls to be replaced in their original position and the stroke replayed.
