I have a question regarding the tip if anone can help, how do you get the'mushroom'effect (favoured by many pros nowadays) on the tip? I didn't know wether they lightly tapped the tip with a hammer, or wether that would damge the cue and they get the effect through sanding?

The Mushroom effect is usually best with a 10mm tip fitted on a 9.5mm ferrule gives a nice overhang just right for snooker, and needs to be in these proportions of 1/2mm whatever the size eg 9.5mm tip on 9mm ferrule ok............something like a 10mm tip on 9mm ferrule doesn't work leaves the over hang to big and off putting.....just my opinion though that may suit some players.
