My thread is not about missing some members in particular, but more used as an example for some lively discussions. On the other hand, maybe all has been said and there is not much to add, think thats it for me.

And Caroline, if being a lonely soul would have PM-ed you already long ago to save my soul. But too late I am afraid.

Well, anyway, thx for your replies, its only a forum

It seems to me that posts and thread got deleted when posters were just trying to have some fun, someone calling other cue makers a fraud and making ridiculous claims is allowed to say whatever he wants and self promote himself shamelessly. Some of my posts were even altered and partially deleted by the mod without any notice beforehand. I am sure the mod did that with good reasons, but I was not very happy about that. That is why i started the poll of who is the best cue makers, sort of as a joke to complain in a dark humor kind of way. I am sorry it has driven many people crazy. I thought it was funny in itself to see Trevor and Mike in the same poll as Keith Auld.

I dont like some forum whereas many people are just attacking each other calling names and such. It sounds like everyone who has had a bad day just log on and take it out on someone. When I try to complain about something, I try to present my case with reasons and facts. I think we are entitled to expressing our opinions in a civil manner. Personally, do not really like to see posts being deleted or cancelled or altered without any explanation, kind of remind me of how people live in a communist country.

Anyway, I like this forum, and I like the people here. I wish more humor is allowed. I personally am not a big fan of Wity. I like Semih, and I wish he will post more.

Wish the pro players will post more about the game, or answer more questions. Is it possible for the forum to have a pro section whereas a selected pro can answer questions with regard to the game?

I am not just saying this to please moderators, but I really think this forum is great. A very small amount of bad language or off topic posts. No unsutiable posts and very good knowledge of the game. It is the reason why I have kept coming back and I have made 953 posts to date!

As the Ebdon thread is demonstrating right now when there is something to discuss, people do so. With only a hundred or so regulars this forum is bound to have its quiet moments.

I dont expect too many 'real time' discussions on here, with the posts coming thick and fast with instant replies to posts. Sometimes you have to wait hours for a reply, if you get one atall. But its usually worth waiting for IMO. There isnt the traffic on this relatively small forum for it always to be fast moving. The good thing about smaller forums is that people get to know each other, but the bad thing is the loss of prominent members does manke a difference.

If you want faster interactions this generally isnt the place.

How many members are here on TSF? Is there a list we can click to view?

Oh Paul.. " no lively discussions " how can ya say that when we have so many threads about cue makers and cues, a cue's length, tip, smoothness is debated 1000 times a day.
I admit i disappeared also for a good while , wasnt cause of what was happening here but for personal stuff in my life, but i have to say when i could come back i didnt like what i found. TSF changed lately imo... AS already pointed out loads of the old and good posters left and most of the times , especially in between seasons the forum is quite boring.
Ive been around during NIT , liked it , remembered the good old days on here so i tend to agree to Danny that when snooker is on the forum is not that dull. Anyway cant help not to miss Semihs brill commentary on the PL matches, we used to know how every break of the League was made ....now we dont even have such a thread, do we ?!
NAmes like DG, Austrian girl,RAmbon, Obligation,Cessy143, KidDynamite, Macmanusrules, Sunflower and fcourse Semih were here when i decided to register years ago..now they hardly visit,i guess every day they have less&less reasons to log in and if they do they never post..
Oh and Mugello../Nardiello/Dingshot/Dingverhass/ whatever...dont we miss him too ?!
Then there is Nina and Sam and many others i don't remember rite now ... each left for their own reasons.

Well the "new generation" is on these days, i personally cant fit in the atmosphere they make here ..maybe cause i m to busy yearning for the good old times. If its in anybody's power..then.. bring'em back!

As a paid up cue geek remember that the cue threads are often informative and can be controversial and encourage lively debate. Wity is another paid up cue geek and when he's not banned he brightens the threads up.
There isn't many forums that attract big name cue makers to regularly post either.
I have to agree though there is a little bit too much repetition and some times I just want to say use the search you lazy ******* to some of the questions asked.

Watched the film Papillon the other night and as Steve McQueen made his escape from Devils Island floating out to sea on a sack of coconut shells he looked up to the sky and shouted out :

HEY YOU BAST ARDS, I'M STILL HERE!

My son walked in at that moment and asked: "whose he shouting at?"

"Nobody really just some goon named Ferret" said I.

I would be great if the early members like Semih, Rambon, D_G, Austrian Girl, McManus_Rules, Wity, Sunflower, Curtis, Nina, Obligation, and many more would come back but I cant see it tbh, the main disscussions on here are best cuemaker, best cue tip, best type of grip, what sort of cue does whoever have, a cues smoothness etc. This is a snooker forum not a cue forum!(no disrespect to all cue makers etc) All I can really say to the early members is,
                        Come Back Please!

fcourse there is room for both. Other years when nutting was going on in snooker threads we had the off-topic chat lively..with games and jokes and films and stuff... Once the posters that kept them lively left, the threads were forgotten so cue talk monopolized everything. I have nutting against those who enjoy cue talking, theyre free to chat ab whatever makes them happy, but for me is one of the reasons i m losing interest in this forum..when snooker is not on. Could be the same for some of the "disappeared " members too. Plus, members leaving one by one doesnt make the forum same familiar and comfy place once was...for some of us.
Ppl just arent as tempted to post as they used to, wonder why ?!

I agree! To everything there IS a Season, and it should be a good one too!
Seems there are many of us here who have not yet found the perfect
partner (cue) and what with players, collectors, cuemakers and dealers all on TSF it seems only natural that these day-to-day concerns so apparent over the summer should move back from centre stage and let the stars shine from now until May.
