I have seen g10 in many different shades of green, and I have also seen them dyed to other colours.
If the joint pin Terry was referring to was really grey, it is possible that it could be another kind of phenolic. There are many phenolic materials (canvas, linen, paper), plus they can be made in different colours. Of all the phenolic materials I have seen, most of them are quite brittle (compared to brass), with glass epoxy being the strongest.
all these are quite good but i don't know about smacking them on the ground though i think g10/11 would hold up but u wouldn't bet your cue on it

Yes, Jay, that is what I told Terry, too. I have seen g10 pins cracked before.
Personally I like brass--and I have tried many of these stuff.

LK.T cues have an all titanium joint. I have one of his top of the line cues here for sale with a 1/2-titanium joint but I haven't really tested it out as I would have preferred the full titanium joint
