  • Le Professionel Cue Tip

Asked by Uncle Thai : Anybody using this cue tip at the moment ? How is it comparing to Elk, Blue Diamond, and Talisman Layered ? Feel, Chalk Holding, Hardness, etc. Learned that it is good for Pool cue, but what about for snooker cue in tip size of 9.5-10mm ?
    Thanks for input

Very firm tip, but too much maintenance.
Not in same league as Talisman.

Did I tell you his secret ? Selling like hotcakes here in Bangkok. But he needs to explore more. He used to use this Le Pro Brand long time ago, but feels that present production is different from those old days. So he needs inputs. Tks.

Are these the same le pro tips used by Meucci and some other brands of American cues? I use one for pool and quite like it though I haven't tried Moori etc.

Originally, I think it was made for pool. Not sure. Tks.

i wouldnt use one for anything, except the breaking cue for english pool. they should be marketed for that purpose. absolutely awesome, especially on a small tipped light cue. they really dont hold the chalk well, as someone says, they require much maintainence. i used one at yarmouth in feb, i had to use the blue chalk, as i think it holds to that tip better. if looking for a better tip thats hard but allows feel an grip, then i think the granite pro (as someone said, greenbiaze) (7.50/5) i tried one on a snooker cue, (i dont play) let a 100+ player use it, he liked it. says he may even change, although hes never used anything other than elk all his life.

I have tried all sorts of tip and all sorts of makes.
My own opinion is that Talisam pro is the best, but a lot depends on what level your playing at and what game its for. i will go into it a bit more detail later on.

May i ask where you bought them and also how they were fitted. The latter is very important.

I don't like le professionel tips... I was using them for pool. quite hard and not good in terms of playability. IMHO
You cannot improve your game if you don't have a cue and snooker table
                        BTW vucko means wolfie

Le Pros are very hard tips - like having a bit of flint on the end of your cue. If anyone's interested, I have one for sale. It was only on my cue for about a week, so you could say it's only "slightly used".

i bought them from coutts cues off ebay ,, i think i have just been unlucky as he is a highly regarded cue maker accessories seller, the first one(talisman soft) delaminated and he replaced it and the second one did the same so just binned it and went back to using elkmaster ,, just unlucky i guess but like i said at 6 quid each its annoying ,, i fitted them as i would any other ,,both surfaces clean and flat,i play with the tip slightly overhanging anyway so no need to trim the sides and if it needed shaping sand downwards only ,,

It does sound like you have been unlucky, i have had no problem with many of them.
