  • Good cue makers and prices

Hi, i was just thinking into the future abit as ive only just stared playing again. But what good cue makers are there out there, and what sort of price would you be expecting to pat for say a 3/4 cue? Only roughly as i know everyones needs are different.

As ADR147 says, its a very wide spread of prices, maybe you can state your own price limit then people will be able to advise you the way to go

well i have done some research and found the following

(estimates)(all prices are + - depends on the spicing of ur choice)

master cues GBP 150 for probutt and exclusive and 160+ for milleniums
.custom made directly from thailand is around 350 USD ++(including box and ship)

        master craft:
normal GBP 135 -150 good quality value for money (said by forum members)

        crasftman:
        normal GBP 200-300+

        acuerate:
        normal GBP 300+

        john parris:
normal JP GBP 200+ NOT RECOMMENDED
        custom made GBP 200 - 465(ultimate)

        trevor white:
        GBP 300+

        Stamford:
        GBP 280 series 1
        GBP 460+ series 2

        Robin cook:
        GBP 270+

well these are the cues which where i would put my money and recommended by forum members(except JP),there is 1 more Mike woolridge cue but i dun know the price.thats all

I havent thought about a price really yet. I wouldnt consider a hand made one until i know i was comitted to playing it regularly. ( i kind of find it hard to stick to one thing.) But if i was then i would want to spend say a max of £200 at the current moment.

This is the bit ime interested in - is this referring to the classic & ambassador series (which are nearer £300 anyway !) as ive just recently bought a 15 year old classic and its superb - just interested to know why some of you seem to dislike them - thanks
