  • Bad sell

I just got back form the club where my friend was playing with a powerglide connoisseur that he brought from a junior member on this forum.
I have started a new thread as I'm hoping that my friend doesn’t see this post. He brought the cue for a £100 which I think was too expensive, but the reason for my post is that the cue is a piece of junk, to be fair to the seller he said as much in his post, so I was surprised how much my friend paid for the cue. The problem for me is that it is obvious that the cues butt has been hand sanded and I would guess the butt to be around 24 mm.
The cue is no more than a twig. I think my friend was trying to put a brave face on and did not want to admit he had brought a piece of crap saying that the butts on these cues are quite slim.
Whats the point of this thread, just a heads up for members to be careful when buying on the forum and take factors like how many post the members have and try to get a feel as to what there about and see if someone who’s out for a quick buck.

Totally agree. It's quite easy to tell who you can trust on here I think. Too many people register just to sell a cue, then are never heard of again.
Oh, and that's a bad miss.

Better still tell us the name of the person on here so we can all steer clear if they try to sell another over priced cue..

The seller is nickthegreek. The cues not mine and I don't think I'll ever see the cue again as I don't think my friend will be using it again.

Did you not say in your 1st post that the seller pretty much said the cue was junk but your m8 bought it anyway?

Surprised to hear your friend paid that much as i personally recently supplied 2 links to the same design cue both ending around the £50 mark and both in perfect condition, I bought one of them and the butt is 31 mm on mine. I saw where the seller was asking questions on possible value of his, and he said it played really well but just looked a bit weird, with no mention of a super slim butt.

Is this the thread about the cue in question?

                      http://www.thesnookerforum.com/board...ad.php?t=29836

If so, I don't really think it's fair to accuse the seller of any wrong doing?

Yeah not a good example. He seemed perfectly honest!

It's funny becaused they managed to sand around the rex williams signature so you have this small varnished area with his name on it

Mybe he doesn't know much about cues so he can be forgiven for that, but it still a bad sale regardless.

So going back to your original point, I don't see where you're coming from re. warning people against buying cues from people with a low number of posts because the seller in this case seems to have been perfectly open and honest about the condition of the cue for sale, including posting photographs of the actual cue for sale.

What did the seller do wrong?
