I been playing with my mastercraft cue which is 57 1/4, I was playing with a bent bridge arm but have now straighten it and in doing so I'm finding that the cue is coming up short around an inch. I tried a 58 1/4 before from another cue maker and it didn't work out but I now think it was the cue. I won't be shortening the cue If I can't get on with it I put it on Ebay for £10000 lo.

      haha...bargain at 10k.
Any reason for the change in the straight bridge and hows it helped your game, i've experimented with this
as well. Felt it improved my long game funny enough. What are Del Hills views on this

Del set me up with my bridge arm very bent as this is how I told him I played, so in or order to get his shape and the cue going up to down I had to put my hand all the way up the shaft, this set me on the short cue path but I found the cue was unbalanced with the grip this far up the shaft. Now that I straighten my bridge arm I'm holding the cue at the end and am finding it easier to adopt Dels Technic. This has also cured many other minor faults that I had mainly movement related.

When you placed the order did it ask for info about the shaft or was it something you added to the order? Just asking because you mentioned things like stiffness of shaft, amount of arrows, balance point etc, which of course isn't an option on the order page?

yes when you go on to the final phase there is a box to fill in additional info. I would have found it strange if there wasn't as the ultimate is all about a selected shaft.

I know I should ring JP myself but I don't want to bother him so early in the process, I also know that the fussier you are about the shaft the longer the wait. But I have heard that the waiting time's have gone down. Can any body tell me the lead time for a new JP ultimate?

I don't know about that cazmac but I know that Matt Selt and Sean O'Sullivan have both recently had new Parris Ultimate cues, Matt selt had 2 made up. If you're on twitter then ask them how long they had to wait, I doubt JP would make them any quicker for lowly ranked players and one newcomer to the MT than anyone else. At least I know for certain they have had them within the last month.

                    Good Day, cazmac,
I have ordered a Peragon, did it in Dec 2011, I emailed numerous times with nil replies, got a automatic reply couple of days ago, I guess the shop is closed for summer hollidays, back in production mid July. Hope to get a reply from them even if its to tell me its going to be another 6 months, I hope they dont tell me to read the FAQ again, lol.
                    Cheers,
I try hard, play hard and dont always succeed, at first.!!!!:snooker:

I would be surprised if they were all on holiday. John has quite a lot of staff on these days, have you tried phoning?

Hi I don't want to have a standard badge on my ultimate and certainly don't want a cue with 2006 or something like that.
                        all suggestions welcome.

Get a standard badge - if you don't it could seriously affect the re-sale value of the cue if you decide to sell it on if you don't get along with it.

I'm sure you've seen the same thread on here many times before:

"How come the badge isn't the same as the other Ultimates?"

"I've seen a few fakes on eBay with a badge like that."

Then 17 pages of posts trashing your cue and fake Parris cues etc. etc. etc.

Hello Cazmac, I would suggest you get the original plate, (resale value and proof of maker, originality). See if they could send you a blank as well, molded to fit your cue with brass screws like the old style cues, this would ensure proper fitting and you can have lots of time to find a pattern and someone to engrave it for you. Basically explained, one original plate and a dublicate blank plate, cant expect this would cost toooo much.
                              Cheers,

Hello, Cazmac, Got an email from Parris Cue today, they told me that the cue is being constructed and should be ready in 4 to six weeks, after all, I am happy with that, I am purchasing for quality not customer service. Hope your cue is going to be an asset to your game, every bit helps.
                                Cheers,
