  • It's new cue time!

After thinking about it for a while, and keeping my eye out for certain cues, I've finally decided what I'm going to do.

I've created images of the cue I want, and I'm going to got to B&W tomorrow and get them to make me a cue!

Obviously it will be to my exact specs. I've also created images of the cue, so I can show them what I want.

The front splice is Amboyna Burr, with a maple vaneer.

    What you think people?

My current cue is B&W and it's excellent.

Also, my friend has just had two cues made by them and they are both excellent. One maple, and one Ash.

The ash cue is fantastic. Lovely tight, straight grain. Feels nice and solid.

My other major issue, is all the other cue makers I have contacted have been totally unhelpful. Not replying to my emails, and a general sense that they do not want my business. Very strange customer service.

          So, B&W it is!

The problem is, there will be loads of people on here who will tell me horror stories about every cue maker going. In fact it goes on every week.

All I've seen from B&W has been fine, so that's all I can go on.

I don't know much about B&W cues other than what I've read on the forum, however Andrew knows his cues and if he says they're poor I personally will take his word for it.

A few months ago i contacted some makers re: a new stick, not one failed to respond with timely, helpful responses that were to the point, i already knew these lads are unbelievably busy and had heard stories about waiting days for a response, some were quicker but that didn't sway my decision though. Some would think that these guys maybe don't care, business is important to them no matter what, it's what puts food on their table. Keep an open mind.

I haven't been a member long but the info I've got from reading adr's posts has been spot on. I'll second what dave said.

Is it b&w billiards or burroughs&watts that you are getting to make your cue.

I had a burroughes and watts cue made for me as a prize when I won a national U16 tournament in 1999.

It took four months to make, they sent me faxed pictures of the cue as it was being created (still might have them).
It arrived and was absolute tripe! Uneven splices, nowhere near the 19oz I wanted and was 56 inches long. I really hope it's still at my local in the back so I can post pics now.

I will have a look tonight!

ted, i would seriously take up this offer, ADR is superb to deal with and one of the most knowledgeable people on here about cues and equipment.
