Well back home from my NYE road trip and picked up the B&W Norfolk cue as expected and also the exciting mystery case.
Before the unveiling I must state that as far as I am concerned I am quids in on this purchase, not only did I pick up a reasonable period cue and original case for very little money I also had the chance to meet a lovely gentleman who shared some of his story with me and showed me a picture of him playing with this very cue in a London Shipping Snooker League final in 1966. Let's not forget about the mystery case too.
Cues are beautiful things in their own right but add the nostalgia and memories that cues evoke for people and you get something special! I'm a sucker for a story!!
Now on to uveiling the cues...
Can you guess which one I didn't have the key to???
The B&W Norfolk Cue
Not sure yet the shaft material as it needs a bit of a clean up
The Mystery Case Cue
Unbadged, ash shafted, handspliced ebony butt with green veneer and dark wood front splice
The spoils of my NYE road trip, £28 of my money, a little time and some petrol.
