              I have a Mastercue PB 1 I bought some time ago, not for sale but a great cue. You could do a lot worse than one of these, just make sure you get the right spec for yourself.

                I have a one piece Jawes cue for £100 + delivery , very solid hitting cue .

                  Yeah, thanks mate. Problem is I don't quite now what is "right" for me. Guess I could try out a few at the local club, but I figure anything really is a major step up from the free-to-use ones they have at clubs

                    depending on your height and ability average specs usually 57 inches 9 to 9.5 mil tip weight around 17 to 18.5 ounces, but can go upto 58 inches or longer and tip size 10 mil or even bigger and weight pretty much anything but all personel choice but if just starting out don't go too heavy unless that's what you are use to and again all down to what you have used in past that you felt was ok
                    personally based on your budget (and am saying this to help you not sell cue) would struggle to do better than package that I mentioned for the price, respected make, quality cue, reasonable specs and extras such as case and extension
