I am looking at 60.5" - 61" in length
9.3 - 9.5 tip
29.5 butt
Forward balance
Pretty stiff ash shaft -5-6 arrows if possible ?
Might order a couple if the waiting time is less than 6 months ?
Sure a cuemaker can find whippier or stiffer shafts at that length but the simple fact is that once you go over 58" that extra length means the cue will feel more elastic. Conversely a shorter cue say 56" or less will be stiffer on average. Not to say you can't find the right piece of ash or maple for a cue at 60" or 56" but its a lengthy process going through a ton of ash to find the right piece.

crankie: why do you think you must have a fish-rod for a cue? Are you very tall (and as has been said) do you have really long arms?
Or do you have a very long bridge (i.e. the amount of cue hanging over from your bridge contact to the tip? [common coaching determines a bridge length should be between 8-12"]
Also remember, if you get over 59" then cases become limited and you may need to have a custom made.Up the TSF! :snooker:

I understand there are limits to what can be done, but this surly is not impossible ? I'm guessing it is just advice ?
Can I ask what level do you play at? Beginner? 50+ man? 100+ man?.

This is a tad bit stupid, you should not be guessing what size you should get, you should be getting advice face to face with people in the know with experience, whether that be a decent coach or reputable cue maker/seller...Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning...

I'm fairly tall at 6'2 and have an arm span of just over 6'. I currently play with a 58" cue with no problem at all, so struggling to see why you need a significantly longer cue unless you've got very long arms or exceptionally long bridge.

Well your the boss, just don't fall into the trap of swapping or changing, or even tinkering as it will do more harm than good. Let us know how it works out...Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning...
