I Don't really see the point of the butt joint on the one for sell and Mini butt as it seems to be 8- ball spec? they look really nice though

Even for pool you occasionally need a mini butt to save having to use the rest

Never had that problem myself playing on a 6ft pool table, maybe I've just been lucky over the years :snooker:

Not that often but sometimes you can't reach and either need a small extension or a rest

For you pool players the 2 ash macassar ebony cues are:
"one is a round butt cue
                      56.3/4", 18.1/4oz, 17"balance, 29.8 butt, 8.5mm tip

the other has a 7.5mm tip"
Don't know full specs on that one

guess on a 8ft table it could happen, but 6ft

errr ... quite often jrc ... even with a mini-butt, most players would struggle to reach the length of the table (say white 4 inches from the far cushion) and no-one could reach it if there is a ball underneath where you need to lean over ...

I've played about 30 competitive UK 8ball frames this season and probably used the rest 3 or 4 times ... I had to refuse one shot during an away game because they didn't have a spider rest available - chose a different shot instead ...

some players I know of use 6.5mm tips, I could pick my teeth with that size!

You haven't played that much pool then, and a pool table is 7ft with a 6ft playing surface
