It's karma Bill at £150 you robbed him!
on a serious note, they can't prove it to be antique (over 100 years), and they have to pay the amount it sold for or up to the limit of insurance he paid for.
Trust me I'm ITK on this one, moan to anyone you can- CEO complaints are always handled promptly and diplomatically. As long as the insurance cover was appropriate he'll get paid out, persistence is all it takes.
A cue I had delivered this week arrived in a metal case (as good a fing useless) with the top half of the case completely missing and bare cue sticking out. Signed for as damaged but my mother who took delivery says it looks to be OK except for the cue tip! Be lucky if that's the case, I'll report back later...

I put him straight on that, but he shows no signs of refunding me until he is himself paid by parcelforce.

Gutted ! and confused at the same time. My first loss either receiving, or posting a cue. .
Lovely early J.P. Mannock with snakewood front splice, and unchipped horn ferrule.
Like many of us do, I found this on fleabay, and came to a price away from it.
Cue arrived on time ( parcelforce48 ) but rattling about inside the tube.
My heart sank when I peered in and saw
Worse was to come however, as I thought with a bit of careful gluing, there could be a non playing collectors cue and some insurance payback.
When I laid out the tip 57" ( original length ) away from the end of the butt, there was a gap, and a big gap at that. Those were the only 2 pieces in the tube.
I sent pics to the seller of both the cue, and the tube ( which showed no outward signs of damage ).
Guy was surprised to see the brown parcel tape on each end of the case, as he had sealed it with black tape.
Claim now in with parcelforce.
Pity, as it was a lovely cue.
