What I have noticed with JP cues on ebay is that most are legit but often over valued.
Of course with buying off ebay is you can't have a play but that is something we snooker fans accept as a risk and move on to the next cue
I only posted this advert because I thought it was the most expensive JPT I have seen, whether it sells any where near that price will be telling. Like Fedia and his inflated prices on ebay, but how many he legitimately sold at those prices is another thingLast edited by DeanH; 1 April 2015, 09:20 PM.Up the TSF! :snooker:

I think it looks quite nice and the spec is decent - I certainly had some Parris ultimate cues that did not look that good.
Maybe a tad expensive but an offer of 5-600 not that bad with case and extensions - some may think it worth it to avoid the wait I think - there is no way to know how it plays when you order one direct from John Parris unless you go to his shop and try but if you have to buy one at least you get to see it by buying one off e-bay or on here.
Edit clearly someone else thinks so - its sold already

EZ
The quality of JP cues is worth waiting for and it will be your own, brand new cue.

And most are sketchy for one reason or another. I don't care who sells them, only a fool buys them. You go and see JP and put an order in and pay less. How difficult is that? It makes total economic and playing sense.
Or maybe you'd prefer members to buy expensive cues without trying them out and end up with a dud instead?
How many people do do you think have waited 127 years for a GF ultimate only to say they those magical words under their breath when they play their first game "this is no better then my cheaper grey fox cue or my other cue" same with Coutts, white the lot of them. It's a big risk and works for some but not all. My personal opinion and I think its a no brainer and that's spending a day trip up North at Greenbaize and test out as many cues as you like.

I agree with this miles better to try before you buy - but I also enjoy getting used to a cue too - and I would buy a Parris cue in my spec I saw and liked the look of second hand preferably first over an order unless I could go to his shop and try a few - however when it comes to buying totally blind I would add if you know what you want then the cue maker out of those that gets it right is probably one that has played the game to a decent standard and understands what you require and also makes the cues themselves.
So if you must buy blind I would suggest it carries less risk with someone like Trevor White than some other makers if you know exactly what you require?
I mean you can chat all day about what you like in a cue to John Parris but end of the day he ain't making it.
The one redeeming factor over GBL with both of these makers - if you don't like the cues you can sell and get your money back or close too it so what's the risk - none?
I actually tried to place an order with Trevor white back in November - December - January - I was going to buy two but he put his prices up so I was not sure - in the end I just ordered the one but he never replied with payment details - so I don't know if I have an order or not - I am fussy and so he probably got fed up of me.Last edited by Byrom; 2 April 2015, 10:39 AM.

Did I not read some where that Parris gives you a "cooling off" period after receipt of the cue, in case it is not to your liking that you can get your money back?
Also, I am sure that other cue makers will be open to discussion after the delivery of the cue?Up the TSF! :snooker:
