  • This is turning into the anger of 92. What is it with the aggressive angry attitudes of Williams and O'Sullivan?

I love these long matches! so much can happen, the ebb and flow brings the magic that makes this the best tourney by far. Each year you remember how hard it is to win a match let alone the title!!

        • So, three miss rule. Mark Williams fouled- push shot on yellow, then missed the reds twice when put back in. So, he didn't have a legal hit for three consecutive shots. Why wasn't he warned until after he missed the reds the second time?

He was, Dessie did it just before she walked away. You see Willo nodded the he understood and he then played directly into the red.
he had hit the yellow previously. It was a Foul (push shot) but not a miss as he hit the ball on.

Thanks Dean. That makes sense. I had in in my head that the rules said it was a miss if it wasn't a legal hit, but I guess as long as you hit the ball on that's not the case, even if it's a foul stroke.

              • A miss is if you do not hit the ball on.
(or fail to make a good enough attempt to your ability to hit the ball on.)

                • Well, that was a pretty miraculous comeback from Williams tonight. Sets it up nicely for the final session tomorrow. Trump not really falling apart though, so I still fancy him to win with the slender lead he has now.

                  • Great comeback by Williams .

I think that session end came at the right time for Trump . I think this match rests on who comes out the stronger tomorrow .

                    • I don’t think the commentators use the phrase class of 92 enough ,it’s boring , tired and cringe worthy

Iā€™m sure both Eurosport and the BBC must have a bet on against each other on who can mention it the most ..

if it was a trump vs lisowski final they would probably call it the ' class of the grove academy ' , no less cringeworthy i dont think.

                            • I think the momentum now is all with Williams. He also seems to have the full weight and support of the crowd behind which really helps in the pressure cooker of the crucible.
Although Judd hasn't had a bad session in the semi, I find it hard to see him having belief given the lead he had and to see it pretty much disappear. It would've been better if he'd had a bad session and lost it, rather than be playing well but being outplayed.

I also see no way back in the other semi for Higgins. I think osullivan will rattle off the 7 frames needed pretty quickly,.maybe with a session to spare.

A little controversial but It's a bit of a worry that the oldest player and 3rd oldest player, could be about to contest the world final with a combined age of 93. I really hope this is the end of the road though for the old guard, I like others am getting a bit bored of watching these players go head to head over such a long time. We really could do with an injection of fresh faces next year as it's hard to see how the game can survive with these same players dominating.

                              • robert milkins said open it up , that still seems the best solution as i strongly doubt there'll be any new faces from the 2022 q school , its hard enough to win pro matches against say the 96th ranked player let alone anyone in the top 16.
