I've become a fan of Fan today - Kids got ballz! He can certainly play and if he can learn some tricks along the way will get even better..
I thought the same after he beat Ronnie, glad to see him pushing on now. He was so determined and brave tonight, great match. Also, very good interview from Ryan, didn't even mention the huge chunk of luck Fan had in the decider, inadvertently rolling in behind the colours, just praised Yan for his overall play tonight, even thought it must have hurt. Great tourney so far.

The fast and the furious,
The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

I didn't watch the full completion of the final frame but if you're talking about when one of the reds moved over the right black pocket from the tv viewers viewpoint from Fan's safety and the white went back up the table behind the baulk colours I wouldn't really call that a huge chunk of luck as the white's destination was Fan's intention when he played the shot, it was a slightly attacking safety shot and could have been seen as unlucky if the white didn't quite finish behind the colours but the red still trickled over the pocket.
The object of the shot was achieved, finishing behind the baulk colours.
Yes I know what you mean trains, but I think he caught it a bit thicker than intended and was very lucky to end up covering all of the reds. There's no way he would have played for the red to land right over the pocket but be completely covered by one of the colours, certainly not in the deciding frame.

Yes I can't deny Pat that both Robertson's & Days post match interviews were heart warming, honest and sincere, no BS just down to earth truths about the matches. Great to hear them praise Fan as his performance deserved that. Hope he doesn't tail off and lose focus like some have done as it was refreshing to see him do battle yesterday.
Just watched the fifth frame where Judd / Luca managed to get all the reds up the other end of the table. I really love that type of messy frame, seeing how a player gets out of it, so was gutted when they both said they wanted a re-rack.
I think the ref should have refused, & told them to play on.
Am I alone? We don't just want to see quick frames with big breaks do we?

I was unable to watch this afternoon's matches, but I also love it when we get that sort of situations. Can't see those two being keen on scrapping it out, but I agree with you, the ref should tell them to get on with it, all part of the game. Not popular with the speed freaks though, so....

Yeh. must admit I would have loved to see how that frame panned out! Apparently as long as the players agree the ref cant intervene further...

only thing i would add is that the snooker gods love a positive player and seem to reward them with good ball run. I dont think Fan could have played any more positively so felt he deserved/made good running for himself from his own mindset.
