Don’t think the overhead camera angle helped at all. You really need to be close up to the white. When you see some players check if the black is correctly spotted they get their heads right down on the table. You’re talking fractions between ok and not ok. The ref was pretty clear and he’s nothing to gain from calling a foul.

It looked to me like the centre of the cue ball was a fraction outside the yellow spot so the ref called correctly, that's why people like that are referees
Maybe Hossein should have checked whether the cue ball went into a divot where the yellow had been incorrectly spotted over a couple of days and then he could have bollocked the ref and reported him like Ronnie reported Desi last season over that spotting the black incident.

Terrific effort from Murphy tonight, was bang under it but found a way back. I guess it's much easier for a legend and world Champ to find ways to win when small weaknesses are shown by lesser mortal
Good player Zhou, for a second tonight I thought he may emulate his mate Xiao Guodong, as I feel their talents are similar tbh.

There is an ever growing list of privileged Duracell players I think. There’s a lot who have the game to win, but it’s probably only going to happen when they find the feeling on that random special week.

There’s a few who might do a Todd Hamilton style major win. Not sure that’s great for the game.

We were talking about this last night and my pal was saying the refs just being picky but i said if he thinks its out and doesnt call it hes cheating as you cant pick and choose the rules you want to enforce, he wasn't having it lol.

Yes, I think if Oli can drop his shoulders a little more often and relax out there he can do well. Needs to keep putting himself in the arena and it will become more normal for him. I think players like him need to find their " Joe Johnson" moment and feel they're happy out there. Lose the fear.

I tried to watch all matches but effing work kept on getting in the way!!!


What I saw was Pany Junxu playing like he usually does but a little bit more consistent than Robbo was; it was as I thought it would be - a decider
Been watching Pang getting more and more comfortable in the big time so who knows.... (as someone said on Twitter -"don't want to junx his game"

Murphy just did not turn up too the level required to match Judd playing B+ game. Very entertaining though

Less said about Wilson/Williams game the better - the poorest out of the QFs I saw.

Did not see Slessor/Heathcote match, happy for Slessor ... but no ROS to beat this time
