I thought he was an Awful presenter too. Just didn't 'feel' right all week with him in the studio.

Congrats to ROS. Robbo got a bit of bad run when splitting the reds to go 6 - 3 up and that was the turning point without doubt. Robbo then went for a few stupid long reds which really surprised me and showed the difference right there between himself and Selby, it mirrored alot of Jimmy White's poor selection shots in past world finals which cost him.
To the poster above that stated how can Ronnie win still without playing in the other tournaments, its the opposite. buddy, imo. The rest breaks makes him fresher for the ones he chooses to enter and for me gives him the edge to start with over the other busy players. Would he really have won this Welsh with all the touring and rushing around, probably not.JP Majestic

Well, it was quite an enjoyable final, but obviously nowhere near the midnight finish I wanted. And to be honest, I expected them to play a little bit better. I said I was looking forward to the centuries flying in, but there wasn't much one-visit snooker played at all. It just shows what nerves can do though, and to be fair, they were both getting some bad luck at times.
As Robertson said, it could have been a different match if he had got a kinder split when he was in for 6-3, but he certainly can't complain about not getting chances, because he was in in virtually every frame tonight. I think it was the third frame of the evening when he had the perfect angle on the black to split the reds, but opted to play on the loose red and subsequently broke down. I kind of knew he would lose from that point. He wasn't missing any sitters, but he did miss pretty much every ball that was a little bit tricky, and you need to be potting them to win major titles.
Well done to O'Sullivan, the final wasn't his best match perhaps, but his performance throughout the week was superb, and he is a worthy winner. That's two major titles for him this season, and two for John Higgins. They just won't go away, will they? O'Sullivan has also brought me some valuable fantasy points again, and I'm not sure if he's ever lost a tournament when I've had him in my team. Shall we keep him for the World Championship...?
All in all, it was a decent week of snooker. The best-of-7 matches didn't exactly produce any classics, they never do, but it was entertaining and mostly high-quality stuff. The World Grand Prix is the next big event, in a couple of weeks, hopefully with O'Sullivan playing as well. Unfortunately they've messed up the format, but that's just the way it is these days...

I'd say the Welsh Open is a far bigger tournament than the German Masters.

Just a quick correction, O'Sullivan has of course won two of the last three big tournaments, with Martin Gould winning the German Masters in between."Am too good not to win this tournament" - Stephen Hendry

I really enjoyed the final match, well done to both finalists. I must say that I enjoy seeing a young guy that has been working hard make it to a final table for first time much more than two experienced and well off pros that have been there often. Just an observation... the snooker level is very high at the top so dont get to see this often.... Cheers,I try hard, play hard and dont always succeed, at first.!!!!:snooker:
