      • Neil Robertson vs. Jamie Cope... now that would be an interesting final. Have a change of generations arisen among the top players, I wonder?

        • Has Mark King been in any finals or indeed won any ranking events before?

          • King lost to Hendry, 9-2 in the 1997 Welsh
            and
10-7, to Peter Ebdon in the 2004 Irish Masters.
            1994 a good year
            The Masters a great event
            The Final a marvellous match
            The Winner a snooker genius
            Alan McManus The Winner
            Stephen Hendry The Loser

              • So, whatever happens we will have someone tomorrow who is claiming his frist rankign title. And first australian in a ranking final for 16 years, was Dene O'Kane the guy before Robertson.

Edit: Runnerup - 1989 Hong Kong Open

                • No, Warren King was, in the 1990 Mercentille Classic, Dene O'Kane was from New Zealand, and lost to Mike Hallett in the 1988(?) Honk Kong open final.

                      • Just as Virgo and Clive said, Mark is looking quite "mature" in his game tonight, rather playing safe than trying a risky pot. Maybe he's trying to frustrate Cope?

                        • Yeah, he kept it very tight. Obviously lots of respect for Cope.

mark is quite a cagey player when he needs to be. i suppose hes favourite in a battle against cope as copes a well known great potter.

mark is one of those players that has to gain confidence by playing well, or through his opponents mistakes.

id like to see mark in the final

                            • I think you're right about Mark, Semih. He's played quite well throughout the tournamnet. Edit: Why do I nine times out of ten write 'tournamnet' instead of 'tournament'??

I'd like to see a King-Robertson final but I'd like even more to see a Cope-Robertson one.

                              • thats the impression i get from him.

he seems like a confident person when you talk to him, but in matches he looks like he lacks it until he does something to perk him up a little

on another note, that was very close to being a push
