  • I think Neil Robertson holds it at 38. Go to youtube and type in 'Players of Prestatyn' and I think he says it there.

Ronnie with about 37 unbeaten qualifier matches in his first season !! And about 85 out of 87 for the whole season.

That will never be beaten i suspect.

Ronnie won his 38 first matches as a pro. This has not been beaten yet.

Thanks for the confirmation. My memory was a little hazy on the exact details. Interesting to see that post above from 'getting better' about Robertson also getting 38. I had forgotten about that feat. I wonder if he managed to equal Ronnie then, or if they werent his first 38 matches, or not all in a row or something ?

Might be a question for me to send Cajit on his snooker archive.

So he only lost two qualifying round matches in his entire career? Well, I knew about the 38 match unbeaten streak, but still never had an idea about this, impressive

What about Stephen Hendry? He was fast out of the blocks, so perhaps, knowing that he hasn't got the record, someone has an idea, how good Stephen's debut was?

JP needs frame five to stick to the match against Patrick Wallace.. In the last couple of years, Patrick's scoring has been very solid, but I still would like to see JP through..

I think so yes. It seems he only had to spend one years in the qualifiers after putting in a performance like he did. I think he went from nowehere to number 9 in the rankings in his second season.

I take your point but Roe at the same time Roe has done very little for quite sometime now.

Though in saying that you cant take anything away from Selt and his recent performances in the qualifiers..

No, he went as n°57 in his second season and ended it as n°9. The next year he got to n°3, he was 19, and never left top 8 since.

That means he nearly spent his entire career in top 8..

Quite interesting for a player who has been the target of critics about inconsistent play.. Maybe it is because even his C game is good enough to win matches against almost anybody on the tour. Maybe because his A game is undefined, so even when he plays very well, fans(including me ) expect more..

Andy Hicks vs Jordan Brown should be an interesting one.. One is a struggling veteran that has failed to keep up with the up-and-coming talents in the last five years, if I'm not wrong, and the other one is trying to earn himself reputation and ranking points to solidify his position on the tour.. 3-3 locked and I really wonder whether Brown can back his first round win here.
