I am quite sure Ali wasn't thinking about Joe when he answered the question, but for a moment it sounded a bit harsh. But then again Swail was not at the races in the evening session.
Ali played very well in the last 7 frames, he deserved to win his first ranking title. Shame about Swail though as he may not get another chance to win a title. Congratulations to Ali!

I thought the same thing at the time, but I suppose he was just ecstatic and it may have sounded a bit harsh like you said. I believe he never meant to sound rude or disrespectful to Joe.
