Burnish tip

Hi guys, quite decent at putting a tip on and shaping it, was wondering if you guys have any tips on burnishing the sides?
Had some lovely tips with burnished sides before but have no idea how to do it myself.

Ive tried a few things over time, but have to say the best results I have achieved are from a leather utility strap I purchased on Ebay, but never used for its intended purchase! (holding a broken cue case together) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UTILITY-S...72.m2749.l2649

either a small piece of shoe leather (an offcut from a friendly cobbler) or the non-abrasive side of the 2500 grit strip I keep in my case seams to work?

Thanks for replies guys, tried ?20 notes bud not much success, cue crafty that tip edge looks great. How long would it take you to burnish that?

Cue crafty, would it make any difference the colour of leather?

I finish the tip wall and ferrule with grade 1000 sand paper.
Apply shoe wax (Kiwi clear) and with a strip of thin cardboard, buff till it shine.

Hi Ricky, yes I should have mentioned I'm using the inside of a black version . Only takes 5 minutes to get that finish .

Great work as always. It was you who inspired me to get better results with the finish on my tips . What cue tip are you using there BTW?

i use the back of a sandpaper, also i usually use 180 grit sandpaper to even the tip sides with the ferrule but i found out that i damage the ferrule (top of the ferrule is getting smaller than the base). any recommendations on with sandpaper to use ?
