Well I agree with 18, if you can call potting black a 'break'
    if not than 16

18 is my first impression.....14*red-pink, 1*red-brown-yellow, a green-brown, (these 16 contributions are shared by players A & B), then A pots both pink and blue to go 7 ahead, B pots the the final black, and a respotted black.....=18 breaks of 7!

Good question. My first thought would be 18. One for each red, then green+brown, the final black, and the re-spotted black.

    ROUND THREE HUNDRED AND NINETY-FOUR

Player A breaks off in a standard frame of snooker, and goes in-off giving 4 points to player B.
He is not left a free ball.
Assuming there are no further fouls in the game, what is the greatest number of breaks of exactly 7 that can be made in the frame?
Assume also that there are no mistakes in the refereeing of the game or anything complicated like that!

I suppose I'll have to give you that.
(for the record, the rest in order were - Williams, Griffiths, Reardon, Spencer, Robertson, Dott, Taylor, and finally Steve Davis at the very bottom due to a 10-1 hammering by Tony Knowles in the first round 1982).

Finally thought of one. Might be easy, might be tricky.

Complete the list, and give the reason why they are in this specific order.

Joe Johnson, Ken Doherty, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Cliff Thorburn, John Higgins, Alex Higgins......

There are 12 more players to be named.

    Think I got it.....

63 is the most frames lost by a single player at the crucible in a single year by one player (Ken Doherty 2003)
67 is the maximum possible. It would involve you winning each game in the deciding frame, then losing the final (10-9, 13-12, 13-12, 17-16, and 18-17.
    How is that?
