Yes, but can you take the shot in full 1st person simulation view, or are you still stuck hovering above the damn table?

YES, I agree in everything you said there. WSC LOOKS great. But thats the only good thing in the whole series based on my own game-experience and on the videos Ive seen.
I think You need one decent pool / snooker simulator. There is only one game for this.

Why there is only one game?
There could be several good games. Everybody will have their own preferences.
There will be plus and minus for all games

I have tried multiple snooker and pool games and I think vp3 is the most close to the real play. For example I find WSC -series games waay too arcade for me.
Vp3 has some flaws too, but minor. Im just trying to recommend vp3 for the players who are looking for real snooker (or pool) experience on PC.
Of course, everybody can play what they like most. If you like WSC its fine by me. Keep :snooker:

About VP3's flaws, isn't one of them that it's flipping ancient now?Mobo: GA-P35-S3

wsc 08 on wii is fine for me, although i have managed a 141 break, is still very difficult after unlocking hard difficulty players.
if a shot can't be taken then an icon shows up to say impossible shot. i have never played the games you mention as mainly played pool in pubs or snooker in clubs rather than on computer. i would agree that it is not quite as free moving as real life, but just allow for difference and you generally get used to it. i think if you are so set on the fact that the other game is better, than you just as well not bother with any wsc games. if your heart is set on something and you won't allow yourself to adjust to the games way, then it's just best to steer clear and not give it any thought!

You asked for a proper snooker experience on PC and I gave it to You.
Yes, Virtual pool 3 is old, the graphics are not up to date, but the gameplay and the physhics in VP3 are just so awesomely realistic I just could not care less about maybe a little old graphics. Thats my point.
I'm starting to think the graphics are the most important thing in a snooker game for some people and I think that really sucks. The balls look like balls in VP3 and with those physhics and the gameplay, it is enough!
Give vp3 a try man. I can guarantee you won't regret it. Playing online via Gamespy arcade just couldnt be easier. There are weekly tournaments, World-championships, Round-robin tournaments etc. thanks to the Tournament Directors and the Creator of the tourney system.
btw Im still waiting answers for the questions I asked in my earlier posts.
Thanks,

- 1st person gameplay. Actually it has ONLY the 1st person view. Vp3 does not have any silly "striking player" -animations it it (thank god)
- Mouse is directly connected to the cue
- With a little camera-setup change, you can set the camera for even more realistic setting than it is as a default. Hint: the zoom and the C-key
- The Physhics and the gameplay. Vp3 is the only game out there which which is designed to a real play fan. The physhics model is very realistic.
The gameplay is just as fluent than a real play: there are no any striking-animation. I hated to watch this animation in WCS again again again again and again after pressing the "strike" -button. It was just disturbing. And it looked crap too.
Dont let the Virtual "POOL" 3 fool you; it has snooker game also on a snooker table.
I have played snooker almost 3 years once/twice a week for real and I know what I'm talking about. I have tried multiple snooker/pool games (WSC 2003 & 2005, iSnooker, Poolstars etc.) and vp3 is better than all of those put together. Only thing bad in vp3 is the graphics. But is just a minor flaw, because the gameplay and the physhics are just astonishing!
I will try WSC REAL too when it is released, but I have a feeling I wont like it. Lol the arrows, the gameplay and the physhics on WSC (earlier versions at least) were...just HILARIOUS! I couldn't stand the games.
How many of you have made a break of 147 in WSC? And how many of them? One more question for You: Whats your break record on real table? Virtual pool 3 is 8 years old game now and the maximum break has been done in the game by just a few of players less than 10 times in all in 8 years! It has been caught on video only one time by a Romanian really good player, truely one of the best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5zZaHHQiUM&fmt=6 . My best break on real table is 40 and 66 on vp3. Maybe that is telling something about the game. I have played vp3 snooker maybe 2 years, and during last 9 months really active on online-mode via Gamespy Arcade.
You can get the game here: http://www.celeris.com/games/vp3/buy.html . Use the discount-code: vp3pc1104 to get it for $10.

Agreed personally I leave them on but then that's because I prefer to use them as not everyone is a aqn expert snooker player I'm not because of my disability I can't even handle a real cue properly so if I want to play I have to play on computer I like the arrows as I'm not a snooker expert I watch it and understand it on TV but I need the aiming aisd they do help me be moer competitive and I do like to have a shot at winning.
