  • JP made in the late 80's early 90's according to John--badge says "hand spliced"
    57", 9.5mm, 29mm, 14" 3/4.
    7 evenly spaced chevrons on the ash shaft which has turned into a golden color.
    I LOVE this cue, made my first and only century with it.

    Edit: made another one already.

    • Hi,

      Snooker cue:- Master cue Rocket (parris traditional copy)

      * 57 inch
      * Ash shaft
      * 18.25 oz
      * 9.5mm tip

      8 ball pool cue:- Trevor White(paris traditional copy)

      * 55 inch
      * Ash shaft

      Both stunning cues and a pleasure to play with
      Just because its old, doesn't mean its worth a fortune!!

      • I have played with several cues over the last 15 years or so...
        burwat champion first edition.
        john paris elite.
        b&w mascot.
        riley burwat.
        but the last 9 month or so i just wanted somethin plain with no frills...
        got on made from peradon cuewizard and it is just 1 peice maple shaft with hand spliced roeswood butt i think it is 16oz and 57in long and i am playing some of my best snooker with it !
        within the first 2 months of playing with ih i had a 99 clearance an 116 clearance within 4 days of each other. so you could say i am happy with it.

            • Hi there, new to this forum
              '89 JP custom being refinished /sd joint in butt and new upper/lower joints put in at JP now with lovely wooden cue case with bromley add.
              According to JP it is the equivlent to a Paragon today. 3/4 ash with 4 chevrons up 3 down.. lovely shaft on solid blackest black ebony/maple ebony butt. 57 3/4" 18oz approx 8.5mm tip

              current gamer
              '03 Robert Osborne (b4 joined by Will Hunt or when Will had a bad back, I forget) machine spliced red plate with streaky ebony and 4 tulipwood splices like old burwat/trevs matthew stevens cue. Ipc initially with non bevelled osborne joint put in by Robert himself. Lovely ash shaft 8 chevrons evenly spaced and plays beautifully. SD in butt done at JP. 58" 17oz approx 9.8mm tip

              both Elkmaster tipped although heavier JP has a thinner taper. Finding cueball control much easier on delicate shots with the lighter 17 oz Osborne.

              • Is a Thurston cue any good? i've had it years and was told it was very old when i got it (100 odd years he told me) and this was aroung 15 years ago he gave it me, i realise there may be many styles of Thurston cues but wondered if there worth anything, i would'nt consider selling it, i also have no idea how to post pictures either, i have tried some research to find if they are a good make or worth anything, but draw a blank, if someone knows a site or could give me a value etc i would be greatful, cheers, Scott:snooker:

                    I have had in the past , A hunt and obyrne , green badge , it was heavy and felt heavy , 21 oz . A barracuda Kirkham made to 58 , and barracuda champion made to 58 both about 18 0z . A Northwest cue again 58 ,10 mm , 19 0z . A parris special same 58 10mm , and a cheap one piece maple ,worth nothing , with tape round it and that cue was probably the best of the lot , which goes to prove the point if it aint broke .............

                          If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!
