I have a soft spot for Master Cue having had one as a playing cue for so long. I saw this, pleased I could pick it up cheap and have given it a new lease of life. Not totally perfect but much better than it was. refinished including grain fill and repairing the the splice fingers where they had separated over the years not helped by excessive sanding too I believe. Also looks the the joint had been repaired at one point which wasn't the tidiest job so had to clean that up a little too.
The cue is arrow straight, shaft on this one is brilliant, with a clean part on the top below the arrows just where the chin would be so whisker friendly!Last edited by qc2; 7 April 2019, 09:33 AM.

Looks cool. At first i thought it looked a bit like the uniloc joint Predator use on their pool cues- but that one has a concealed thread. If this is just a solid prong, that has me stumped

My brothers Dean Jones Cue, cost about £425 and look at the shaft it has.Snakewood face splice, tiger maple veneer and ebony butt. Finish on the cue is as good as any of the top end cue's, Mike, Trevor, Parris etc.
His extensions are a bit baffling, inside the butt it's a modified spirolock joint but the minibutt joint itself has no threads on it at all, just looks like a metal prong and it locks in place with not even a quarter of a turn, it's like an inch at most you have to turn it to lock it in place. Going by this pic you would think its an airlock joint or something but no, just a solid metal prong with no holes in it.
